Hide Shorts, comments and recommendations
An optional mode for YouTube that removes the parts built to keep you scrolling. It stays off until you turn it on, and every switch works on its own.
Block Shorts, Hide end cards and Disable autoplay are already selected when you first turn the mode on.

Turn on shortcuts in the settings, then use these keys on any video. Every key can be changed, and you can add your own for pause, mute and volume.
Shortcuts are off by default, so websites keep their own keys until you turn them on.

Questions & answers
Is Fast & Clean free?
Yes. It's completely free, with no ads, no paid version and no account required.
How do I speed up YouTube videos beyond 2x?
Install Fast & Clean and use the slider in its popup, the + button on the overlay or the D key. YouTube's own speed menu usually stops at 2x; Fast & Clean goes up to 16x and down to 0.07x.
Which sites and videos does it work on?
Any page that plays HTML5 video or audio: YouTube, Netflix, Prime Video, Twitch, Vimeo, online courses, podcasts and video files opened in the browser. Google Meet is skipped on purpose.
To use it on local files in Chrome, open the extension's details page and turn on "Allow access to file URLs".
What are the keyboard shortcuts?
S slows down, D speeds up, R resets to 1x, G switches to your preferred speed, Z and X skip back or ahead 10 seconds, V shows or hides the overlay, and M and J set and jump to a marker.
Shortcuts are off by default. Turn them on in the settings, where you can also change every key and add shortcuts for pause, mute and volume.
Can I hide only YouTube Shorts and keep everything else?
Yes. Turn on Clean YouTube, keep Block Shorts selected and switch off the rest. Every option works on its own, and Shorts links then open in the normal video player.
Can it remove YouTube recommendations and the home feed?
Yes. Clean YouTube can hide the recommended videos next to the player, the home feed, end screens and comments, and turn autoplay off, so you watch what you came for.
Does it collect my data?
No. There are no servers, accounts or analytics, and the extension makes no network requests of its own. Your settings are saved in your browser. See the privacy policy for details.
Which browsers are supported?
Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge, both from the Chrome Web Store. It also works in other Chromium-based browsers such as Brave and Vivaldi. A Firefox version is coming soon.
Was it called YouTube Fast & Clean before?
Yes. It's the same extension with a new name, Fast & Clean. Your settings stay as they are.
