Privacy Policy

Fast & Clean – Video Speed Controller & Shorts Blocker (formerly YouTube Fast & Clean) is built to respect your privacy. In short: it collects no data and sends nothing to us or anyone else.

The short version

  • We don't collect, store, sell or share any personal data.
  • No accounts, no analytics, no ads and no servers of our own.
  • The extension makes no network requests and loads no remote code.
  • Your settings are saved in your browser's extension storage.

1. Information we collect

None. Fast & Clean does not collect personal information, and it does not send us your settings, the pages you visit, the videos you watch or anything else. There are no user accounts, no analytics, no crash reporting and no advertising.

2. What the extension reads on pages

To do its job, the extension works with the pages you open. All of this happens on your device:

  • Video and audio players: it finds HTML5 <video> and <audio> elements on the page to change their playback speed, show the speed overlay and respond to your shortcuts. On some sites (such as Netflix) it uses the site's own player controls so skipping works correctly.
  • YouTube pages: when Clean YouTube is on, it adds styles to youtube.com that hide the parts you chose (Shorts, comments, recommendations, the home feed and so on), turns the autoplay switch off if you asked it to, and opens /shorts/ links as normal watch pages.
  • The page address: compared in your browser with your site rules, to apply a site's speed, and used to skip pages where the extension should not run, such as browser settings pages and Google Meet. Addresses are not stored or logged.

Page content and media are only used in memory while the tab is open. Nothing is copied or saved.

3. Data stored in your browser

The extension saves your preferences in the browser's extension storage (storage.sync). This data never reaches us.

What Why

Site rules (site patterns you enter and their speeds) To use a different speed on the sites you choose.
Keyboard shortcuts and whether they are on To respond to the keys you set.
Overlay appearance (style, size, opacity, start hidden) To show the speed overlay the way you like it.
Clean YouTube switches To hide the parts of YouTube you chose.

If browser sync is turned on (for example, you are signed in to Chrome or Edge with extension sync enabled), your browser may copy these preferences to your other devices. That sync is run by your browser's provider under its own privacy policy; we can't see it.

When you use Export settings, a JSON file is created on your computer. It stays with you unless you share it.

4. Network requests

The extension makes no network requests of its own: no calls to our servers (we have none), no third-party services, no analytics and no remote code. Everything it runs is included in the extension package. Websites you visit keep working as usual and make their own requests.

5. Browser permissions

The extension asks only for what it needs:

  • storage: save your preferences in your browser.
  • Access to websites (http, https and file pages): attach the speed controller to video and audio on any site or local file you open, and apply Clean YouTube on youtube.com.
  • tabs and activeTab: find the tab you are using when you open the popup or the right-click menu, so the speed can be changed there.
  • scripting: load the extension's own speed controller into a tab that was already open, if the popup can't reach it yet. Nothing is downloaded.
  • webNavigation: notice when YouTube and similar sites switch videos without reloading, so your speed and Clean YouTube settings stay applied. No history is kept.
  • contextMenus: add the right-click menu with speeds and quick switches.

6. This website

fast-clean.msaidzengin.com uses no cookies, analytics or tracking scripts. Your theme and language choices on this site are saved in your browser's local storage, only to show the site the way you picked. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes standard request data such as IP addresses to deliver pages and protect against abuse.

The feedback form on the uninstall page only opens your own email app with a draft. Nothing is sent unless you send that email yourself.

7. Your choices and deleting data

  • Turn the extension on or off at any time from its right-click menu, and Clean YouTube from the popup, the settings or the same menu.
  • Use Reset to defaults in the settings to clear your preferences.
  • Remove the extension from your browser's extensions page. This deletes the data it stored in that browser profile.

8. Children

The extension doesn't collect personal data from anyone, including children, and can be used by people of all ages.

9. Changes to this policy

If the way the extension handles data changes, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date above. We'll never start collecting personal data without saying so here first.
